Gingerbread Man Bathing in Hot ChocolateLet’s face it… January can be a little dreary. The holidays are over, the Christmas lights have come down, but the days are still short, the nights still long, and the temperatures still chilly (to say the least). But when you’re a resident of Lazy Acres adult community in Belton, the cold weather doesn’t have to get you down. There are more ways to keep warm this January than heavy blankets and mugs of hot chocolate. Take a break from the winter weather by doing something fun and friendly in your Lazy Acres community! There’s always plenty to do in and around Belton, and of course Lazy Acres is only a short drive away from Kansas City and all the entertainment, shopping, dining, and culture that the big city has to offer.

There’s always a lot going on in the Lazy Acres adult community in Belton and in the surrounding area, where you’ve got all the amenities of city life with the relaxed feel of small-town living. For example, there’s Tuesday morning Ladies’ Bible Study, Wednesday afternoon Ladies’ cards and tea, and Friday night cards, billiards, board games, and snacks. These are year-round events that don’t stop when the temperature drops! There’s also our bi-monthly Men’s Bible Study on Saturday mornings, and in addition to our regular get-togethers, you can also take part in a variety of special events and seasonal festivities throughout the year.

The Super Bowl is coming up on February 1st, and Groundhog Day is on the 2nd, so you can join some of your friends for an indoor “tailgating” party, and then spend the next day watching to see whether or not Punxsutawney Phil spots his shadow and we’re in for six more weeks of winter. (Let’s hope not.) And of course there’s Valentine’s Day on the 14th and Mardi Gras on the 17th. Those are all good reasons to bear with January and stay warm and positive, as well as good reasons to cook up something yummy in the kitchen, bake a few treats for friends and neighbors (and yourself, of course), and maybe even plan an evening or an outing with someone fun and special.

Cold weather can certainly be a downer, and it’s all too easy to spend the winter months cooped up inside, longing for warmer weather. But the cold winter months are also a perfect time to celebrate, whether it’s holidays and special occasions, big games, or simply an excuse to get together with family and friends and enjoy all the things that life has to offer. No matter what time of year, or what kind of weather, there’s always plenty to do at Lazy Acres adult community in Belton, where you’re surrounded by a close-knit community of friends. Check our monthly newsletter for community events, or if there’s nothing special going on use it as an opportunity to host your own party to brighten up those winter nights!
